Personal Care Services
Personal care is the day-to-day support that helps someone feel comfortable, safe, and respected at home. At Serenity Care Circle Limited, our personal care service is delivered with dignity, privacy, and choice at the centre. We support adults (18+) who need help with personal hygiene and daily routines, whether that need is short-term after illness or longer-term due to age, disability, frailty, or a long-term condition.
Personal care begins with understanding the person, not just the tasks. We take time to learn what matters to the individual, their preferred routines, what feels comfortable, and what support helps them keep control of their day. Support can include assistance with washing, bathing or showering, getting ready in the morning and evening, dressing, continence support, toileting support, skin care as agreed, and maintaining comfort throughout the day. We also support with safe positioning and basic wellbeing checks that relate to day-to-day care, such as noticing changes in appetite, mood, mobility, or general comfort, and communicating concerns through the appropriate route.
Care is provided in line with an agreed plan that reflects the person’s needs, preferences, and any assessed risks. This includes planning around mobility, falls risks, moving and handling needs, and the person’s home environment. Where equipment is required, we follow the guidance in place and ensure staff use it in a safe and respectful way. Where needs change, we update the approach through review and communication, so care stays appropriate and consistent.
We understand that personal care is intimate and can feel sensitive. Our staff are expected to protect dignity at all times, explain what they are doing, ask permission, and respect the person’s boundaries. We work calmly and professionally, supporting independence wherever possible, so that the person does what they can safely do for themselves, with support provided where it is genuinely needed.
Personal care is supported by clear records and communication. We keep care records in a way that supports continuity between visits and helps families and professionals understand what support is being provided. Where appropriate and with consent, we communicate relevant updates to family members, representatives, or professionals, especially where there are changes that need attention. As a CQC registered provider, we operate with safeguarding awareness and confidentiality as standard, and we take concerns seriously, escalating them through the proper channels when required.
